Krusoviti Valley

The descent of Krusovitis – tributary of the river Strimonas – from mountain Lailias to Sidirokastro has formed a unique natural environment with running water, perennial trees, rich vegetation and stone arched bridges.

At the foot of the mountain Mavros Vrachos an artificial lock has created two beautiful waterfalls and while the waters of Krusoviti are lost into the earth, make their appearance again through an underground cave with beautiful stalagmites and they come out of it continuing their route.

Northeast of Sidirokastro there are cafes, restaurants and pools. Up until now at the Krusoviti Valley and at the area around Mavros Vrachos four caves have been spotted and explored with many stalagmites.
