Boating on the lake

At the village of Kerkini, you can get on one of the tour boats and take a boat tour around the lake. Duration of the tour is about 2 hours.

With about 2 hours duration, the tour of the lake Kerkini is done by using the typical traditional boats of Lake Kerkini (locally known as “plaves”).

They are much bigger than the fishing boats, and they can hold up to 18 people and also faster.

The boats are made out of wood with the use of traditional techniques, passed on from generation to generation.

The boatmen are kind and helpful and masters of the flora and fauna of the Kerkini lake.
